Job Title:Consultancy Opportunity

Job Description:The overall aim of the consultancy is to conduct a final evaluation and endline survey of the project to:

1. Conduct a quantitative survey of the project to assess the endline situation against indicators, and compare these against all baseline data that is available. The consultants will be responsible for enumerator training, data collection, analysis, and analysis against baseline data available. The survey should be conducted with a random sample of the direct beneficiaries, namely lead and follower farmers.

2. Assess the level of achievement of project against targets and objectives as outlined in the project proposal and logframe. The review should assess impact, changes and the relevance and effectiveness of the approaches/strategies applied. This qualitative evaluation of the programme should include a variety of tools and methods, comparing findings to project data and survey results to triangulate findings.

3. Arrive at lessons learnt (worst and best practices) and recommendations for future projects in similar contexts.

Job Requirements:

• Lead consultant to hold a graduate degree in Rural Development or related discipline, with 5 years experience in Rural Development work. A post-graduate qualification would be an advantage

. • Proven experience of designing and conducting complex household surveys for development projects (including the design of survey questionnaires). • Strong analytical and writing skills and proven experience of writing analytical reports.

• Proven skills and experience in statistical analysis and use of statistical software such as SPSS.

• Fluent written and spoken English and Shona. Knowledge of local languages relevant to the project area would be an advantage.

• Experience conducting evaluations and surveys in Zimbabwe preferred.
